My research focuses on the rapidly expanding ecosystem engineer species, the Eurasian beaver. I study the effects of the species’ selective foraging and dam construction on aquatic and riparian communities. I am also interested in the distribution and population size of the beaver in Hungary, as well as the knowledge and perception of conservationists and local people about the species.
Further topics of my scientific interest: conservation problems in floodplains and along small watercourses; biological invasion in floodplains; the ecology of large carnivore species; the knowledge and perception of lay people, locals and various experts about large carnivores.
