community ecology, biodiversity—ecosystem functioning, phytoplankton, chytrid algal parasites
I am an aquatic ecologist with a solid background in phytoplankton ecology and taxonomy. Currently, I am eager to 1) link ecosystem functioning to functional diversity (BEF) in planktic algal assemblages of lakes and rivers, 2) quantify the diet quality effect of chytrid fungal parasites at the phytoplankton-zooplankton interface in pelagic food webs, and 3) better understand the long-term response of large rivers to human impacts and global warming at the ecosystem scale, among others e.g. in the River Danube.
