My research deals with large rivers globally and the examination of long-term trends in 1) environmental variables such as water discharge, light availability, and total phosphorus, in large rivers worldwide that are influenced by human activities and climate change, and 2) planktic community composition, focusing on the biodiversity-ecosystem functioning relationship.
